This statement butterfly is hand-embroidered in the Su tradition — layered ivory and golden-amber sequins over silk, a marquise-crystal body, seed-bead detailing and pearl-tipped wire antennae that tremble with movement. A true jewel of thread and light.
Made in our studio and supervised by master embroiderer Joni Zhou—four-time gold medallist of China’s Hundred Flowers Craft Award.
The craft — Suzhou (Su) hand embroidery with layered sequin wings.
Materials — Silk, sequins, marquise crystal, freshwater pearls, seed beads, wire.
