The old way: fit the hoop, tighten the screw, re-tighten as the fabric slips, live with the ring mark, then take the whole thing out and pay to have it mounted.

This way: the organza arrives tensioned in its frame. Stitch straight onto it. Cut the thread. Slot the frame into the oak stand. It is on the shelf.

This is the same frame our silk-shading kits are worked on — but empty, for your own design. It was designed for needle painting in fine silk thread: sheer organza is the loveliest ground there is for it, because the silk floats in the frame with light behind it and every graded stitch reads. Use it with split silk or any fine thread; it is not a hoop, and it does not need one. Finished, it stands on a shelf or hangs on the wall exactly as it is — no hoop to remove, no mounting, no framing shop, no glass.
