The flower that never wilts. In Chinese, ronghua (绒花) sounds exactly like 荣华 — glory and prosperity. For over a thousand years, since the Tang court, these silk blooms have been worn as a wish for a flourishing life.
This deep-burgundy peony — the “king of flowers,” emblem of wealth and honour — is shaped entirely by hand: fine mulberry silk combed into velvet and twisted onto brass wire, petal by petal, entirely by hand. Golden-yellow silk stamens, hand-dyed teal leaves, a secure stick-pin. Feather-light on a wool coat, a silk scarf or a lapel.
Made in our studio and supervised by master embroiderer Joni Zhou—four-time gold medallist of China’s Hundred Flowers Craft Award.
The craft — Ronghua velvet-flower making, a recognised intangible cultural heritage art. No two are identical.
Materials — Pure mulberry silk, brass-wire core, gold-plated stick pin.
